Launched in 1978, the Nikon 100mm f/2.8 E-series prime lens was designed by Sei Matsui.

The lens' shops optical design is fairly simple, it's just 4-elements-in-4-groups. This helps the lens' optical performance because less glass means richer colors in most cases.

This glass lens elements are clear and the focusing operation works smoothly, plus all the apertures are selectable.

The lens comes with a carry case, a Hoya 52mm UV filter, a bottom cap and and front cap.
