Rutile is an ore that is found in the formation of titanium. Titannium is a metal utilized for high tech alloys. Rutile often forms needle-like crystal inclusions inside quartz. In this form of Quartz it is referred to as Rutilated Quartz, and it will have an appearance that there are small bars of imbedded gold within it. Occassionally, the rods can be silver as in this example.
