Rutilated Quartz is a variety of quartz which contains acicular (needle-like) inclusions of rutile. This outstanding golden cabochon was handmade and wire wrapped with 14kt Gold Filled Wire. These beautiful fine needles of golden rutile crystallized inside a clear quartz crystal when both minerals were forming at almost the same time. Composition: Quartz SiO2, silicon dioxide, and Rutile TiO2, titanium oxide. These inclusions mostly look golden, but they also can look silver, copper red or deep black.
