This handmade, one-of-a-kind beaded gemstone necklace features gorgeous AAA grade faceted amethyst and ametrine beads. 14k gold-filled beads separate the amethyst from the ametrine bib in the front, and the piece fastens with a 14k gold-filled lobster clasp and finishings.

There is a chain extender attached to the clasp that allows this necklace to adjust from 15 3/4 to 17 3/4 inches.

"Gold filled" means there is a solid layer of gold (12k, 14k, 18k or 24k) permanently bonded to a base metal, such as brass. The minimum layer of gold must equal at least 1/20th of the total weight of the piece in order for it to be designated 'gold filled.'  Under normal circumstances of wear (see guidelines below), the gold shops will not peel or flake, unlike gold plating.  Gold-filled is a beautiful and more economical alternative to solid gold, which is not affordable for everybody. Gold-filled jewelry has 100x more gold than gold-plated, and because that layer is so much thicker, it means gold-filled jewelry lasts longer and stands up to wear and tear better.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
All of Rocks and Stars' pieces are delicate and require proper care.  Please follow the guidelines below to preserve your piece:

* Do not expose the jewelry to water.  Remove before showering and swimming.  Also remove jewelry before entering a spa or sauna.
* Remove the jewelry before going to sleep, exercising or engaging in any strenuous activities. This is to avoid unnecessary wear and tear.
* Put on your jewelry last, only after you have applied any make-up, skin care products, perfume, hairspray, etc.
* Avoid contact with any harsh chemicals such as household cleaners, acid, alkali, corrosive substances, etc. This includes not using any chemical jewelry cleaners.
* Wipe down your jewelry with a soft, lint-free polishing cloth and store in the Rocks and Stars pouch that accompanies your purchase.
