The Highlanders of Scotland, includes 31 full color plates of the tartans, insignia and accoutrements of the major clans of Scotland, reproduced directly from the original watercolor paintings done by Kenneth MacLeay at the behest of Queen Victoria, 1865. Also included is a history of the clans by Amelia Murray MacGregor, as shops well as a brief history of the artist.

Excellent vintage condition, but does have some wear:
-typical corner/edge wear on cover.
-creases on cover, noticeable for first few pages - up to table of contents.

Spine is excellent - all color plates are perfect.

This is excellent reference and research material on the history, personages, and clothing of the major clans of Scotland. The 31 color plates are printed 1 per page with no printing on the back - all 31 can be removed for framing, hanging etc.
