Kithul shops Treacle

Kithul (Caryota Urens) treacle is made from sap extracted from the inflorescence of the kithul palm.Mainly kithul grows in Sri Lanka's rain forests. The treacle is made from pure sap boiled down to a sweet , dark brown syrup ,thick and sweet in in flavor. The taste,texture and even color may very depend on the age of the tree and the region. For generation,Kithul was native sugar for the islanders .
