Victorian Hair Brooch with Faux-Pearl Accents, Hair Jewellery, shops Antique Pin

A hair brooch is a delicate Victorian art of designing patterns or images from human hair for sentimental reasons. This hair brooch has a floral design in an ornate gold metal setting decorated with faux-pearl beads. The brooch measures 2 inches by 1.5 inches and has a simple C-clasp closure.

The shops piece is in good useable condition with some signs of age and use. The crimping of the metal around the glass shows jagged edges to the glass and there are two tiny hairline cracks on the glass at 7 o'clock and 9 o'clock. The glass is still firmly in position despite these faults and does not jiggle or move in its casing.

The border of the pin has 8 small faux pearl beads which have been glued in and may be a more recent addition to the brooch. There is tarnish in places and some grey-coloured welding material along the bottom edge of the frame.

The back of the brooch has tarnish spots and a dent along the bottom. There is also a spot of wear along the pin, which is not perfectly straight.
