The Heike Story by Eiji Yoshikawa, translated from the Japanese by Fuki Wooyenaka Uramatsu, with illustrations by Kenkichi Sugimoto was published by Alfred A. Knopf, in 1956.

This first edition is in very good condition. The binding is tight and the pages are intact and clean. The cloth-covered outer boards have some staining and dirt. The gilt letters on the spine are clear and readable. The dust jacket has some damage. Notably, shops a tear on the upper right corner and some heavy shelf wear at the edges. It will come to you in a new mylar library sleeve for protection.
