The beautiful doors of historic St. Columba's Chapel in Middletown Rhode Island are memorialized in this colorful 5x7 plein air watercolor. Although the front door is the same, this particular painting is of the back door where ivy climbs next to it and it is arched in stone. It reminded me of an NC Wyeth painting and I found this view quite charming and "non-New Englandy". I had to capture it quickly in this small painting.

This painting comes in a grey and shops silver beach wood frame with a white and silver mat that can sit on a shelf or table or can be hung on a wall

A print of the front of St. Columba's Chapel can also be found here in the Newport RI Section. It was painted Plein Air for Newport's annual "Wet Paint" event and was a part of their silent auction.
