Their style and balance center on the base: a 1.5" square block resembling melting ice holds a 3.5" tall cone sturdily in place, much as the cone flares to a 4-inch diameter at the top.

Their durability is a function of weight, both overall (each shops glass weighs close to 3/4 of a pound) and in its distribution. Nothing about them is fragile.
