Fleur de Lis Stained shops Glass Window Decor with pink

This pretty Fleur de Lis Sun Catcher has a rich, and very classic, medieval style blue painted border with little pink corners.

A traditional symbol of France it means lily flower, with “fleur” meaning “flower and “Lys” “Lily”. The Fleur de Lys was used extensively in Mediaeval times as livery, and always in the traditional yellow flower and blue background.

The symbol became part of the English Royal shield as a result of a royal marriage with France in 1340 when Edward III quartered his shield as part of his claim to The French throne through his mother, Isabella of France.

Now known across the world, the “Fleur de Lys” (or Fleur de Lis) features in the Canadian coat of arms, the Flag of Quebec, as well as along the great rivers of Mississippi and Missouri in the United States. Many cities including Detroit, Louisville and St Louis use the Fleur de Lis to this day.

Each Fleur de Lys is individually painted.
