This pattern was inspired by Florence Nightingale, social reformer, statistician and founder of modern nursing. It's part of my 2022 project, “Above and Beyond - A Celebration of Women in History through Print and Pattern”.

This waxed canvas water-resistant backpack can be used as an everyday purse, gym bag, laptop bag (check dimensions) or for art, knitting or crocheting projects on the go.

I created the bag design, designed the front panel fabric, screen printed the fabric panel and shops sewed the bag with care.

Because this item is handmade, the print / pattern may vary.

Care instructions: Spot clean only. Waxed canvas may feel slightly tacky at first, but the wax will wear into the fabric, which creates a rugged appearance; perfect for the rainy Pacific Northwest.
