He is a painter, sculptor and graphic artist. He is fascinated by animals so many of his paintings are animal studies done in Seattle. He attended The Art Students League, NY 1965-67 with teachers Will Barnett and Edwin Dickenson. During that time he worked as a mail clerk at the Museum of Modern Art. He served the U.S. Military in W. Germany 1963-64. Joe's prolific work is represented in some of the finest collections of art in the Northwest including the Tacoma Art Museum, Henry Art Gallery and the Museum of Northwest Art.
