Shops Inside out assemblage upcycled art doll OOAK

I love to imagine shops all the possible memories this doll could have been part of in it's past life as a child's toy. I found it in an antique shop and knew I wanted to give it a new (and weird!) life. The doll body has been covered in a pink stretch jersey and lots of hand stitching. I'm not sure just how old the weighted pair of doll eyes I attached are, but you can see the delightful aging for yourself. Tube-like formations were used to construct brains and intestines, reminding the viewer of the wonders inside each one of us. This piece is approximately 13” tall and stands on a wooden base (7” in diameter) that I painted with acrylics to look like twisty turny intestines. The figure was Epoxy glued to the base and given a bottom covering of wool so it won't scratch surfaces.
