Gem Silica Chrysocolla from Peru Top Grade Pear Shape shops Cabochon Pear Shape

This is another form of gem silica chrysocolla and it is from Peru. If you are used to seeing crumbly, fractured chrysocolla from Peru, this is NOT it. The chrysocolla I cut this from is like shops agate, full of silica, and only two small soft spots of malachite which polished out great. The polish is beyond anything I have cut in the last 20 years and the color in person is even richer than the images. The strings of clear material in the stone are seams of clear agate, not fractures. I saw one very small crescent moon, healed fracture near the bottom of the stone, but it does not rise to the surface and does not threaten the stones stability. It is visible in one of the images.

This material has not been stabilized, dyed, or enhanced. I cut this stone from natural rough gem silica chrysocolla. This stone is opaque, turquoise blue and it is highly polished on the back with a polished bevel on the base.

Gold would be the ultimate metal for setting this gemstone, maybe enhanced with some small diamonds This is top grade material and you will not be disappointed. It almost stayed in our collection.
