This is a beautiful handmade vintage basket purse that I believe is from sometime between the mid 1970's-1980 or so. It has a scrimshaw (engraved art image on ivory) attached to a piece of wood that's connected to the lid of the basket . It has a wooden handle and is clean inside . It does show a few scratches, especially on the upper right above the scrimshaw as well as on the bottom of the purse. The basket has a bit of wear from its age but overall is in very good condition. It's secured in front and has leather “hinges”. It works well and is secure . The scrimshaw is signed by its artist Chas C III (not positive if correct on the exact artist name, :)). It's rectangular shaped and measurements are in the last 4 photos: approximately 7” x 5.5” wide , 5” deep, and 11” tall (basket + 6” tall handle) . It's truly a unique piece with some fun history shops and is a great conservation piece . This will be very carefully packaged en route to its new owner. Thanks for looking :).
