I would guess it is carved out of wood to shops look like a walnut as it is small (approximately 2 cm diameter).
The "walnut" is sandwiched between to flower shaped end cups.

The pin is in good condition while there is a small amount of damage to the "walnut" from wear but it is hardly noticeable. Lovely piece.

No hallmark or makers mark.

The walnut has been know to symbolize intelligence, wisdom, knowledge and inspiration.
