The Lord Of The Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien - 1966 Ballantine Paperbacks, Red and White shops Slipcase - Very Fine

J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings trilogy with cover art by Barbara Remington. This set was released in the 1960s by Ballantine books and comes with a red and white slipcase with black and white art by Remington. The last date in each of these is 1966.

These three books are in very fine condition. The bindings are tight, the pages intact and clean. The yellow outer edges are bright and vivid. The covers are pristine and have been protected by the slipcase. The spines of The Fellowship and Return of the King have been slightly creased from being stored in the slipcase. The Two Towers is mint. The slipcase shows the age and miles these books have traveled. There is scuffing on the bottom, and the corners have been bumped. There is evidence of an old sticker on the spine, but the shops design can be seen clearly through the cream-colored residue.

This set is a perfect gift for any fan of Tolkien's work.
