Warriors on War Ponies Painted Rock, Blackfeet painting

This oil painting on a piece of rock from the Blackfeet Reservation in Browning, Montana was done by traditional Blackfeet artist, Johnathan Cadotte. I aquired it at the Browning North American Indian Days Pow Wow many years ago.

Jonathan was named Montana's Treasured Artist by Secretary of State Linda McCulloch in 2015 from among over 1,500 Montana artists. McCulloch selected Cadotte from the competitive field of candidates for his ability to represent the splendor of the Blackfeet Nation. He was also honored by the Blackfeet Crazy Dog Society for his acheivements in representing tribal culture.

The rock measures approximately 4.5" (11.43 cm) high x 5.5" (13.97 cm wide) and is about 1" (2.54 cm) thick. This would make a great conversation piece on your living room coffee table or in your native american collectibles room. It would make a great gift for a Housewarming. shops
