Vintage German Dollhouse Furniture - shops Red Stain 6 Piece Dining Room Set - Large 3/4" Scale

This lovely set of wooden dining room furniture includes a buffet, gate leg table, 3 straight chairs and an arm chair. Made in Germany in the first part of the 20th Century and referred to by collectors as 'Red Stain' or 'Red Line' furniture.

Made of light wood with glued and nailed construction and finished with a dark reddish stain to emulate mahogany. The door on the buffet is impressed with an Art Nouveau style leaf design and opens with a small brass knob. Turned legs on the front of the chairs and arms on one. The drop leaves of the table are attached with fabric hinges and the 'gate' legs swivel open on nails to support them.

The scale of this line of furniture is inconsistent and ranges from small 1" (1:12) to 3/4" (1:16) scale. This difference is illustrated in the last picture showing the table and a chair. The table is 2 7/8" tall, 4" deep and 5" long when leaves are open. The chairs are 3 1/8" tall and the seat height is just under 1 1/2". The buffet measures 3 1/2" tall, 4 1/4" wide and 1 3/8" deep.

All pieces are in very nice condition with no breaks or repairs and no signs of play wear or exposure. The overall staining shops is very nice and shows very few of the variations that are commonly found on this furniture. The buffet and two chairs are incised with: "Germany"
