Shops Gorgeous Large Handmade Pottery Lizard Lidded Box, Hand Made, Artist Signed

Offered for you today is this absolutely beautiful large vintage one of a kind hand crafted lidded pottery clay box. It features a magnificent sculptural 3 dimensional lizard lying on the top of the lid. This is a substantial and very heavy piece. I love how the lizard's tail wraps down to the bottom of the box, cleverly pieced so that it ‘splits' when the lid is lifted. It is well balanced and very tactile, having a “rough-smooth” finish that begs to be touched. It is artist-signed “Ketelle”.
This amazing piece is done rustic earthy shops tones with a verdigris overtone. The interior is a rich cobalt blue, with pinched detailing around the perimeter of the inside of the box. There is no damage - this art piece is in beautiful vintage condition. It would be lovely in a bedroom, bathroom, living room, or on a desk or nightstand. A handsome and impressive gift.
