This magnificent 26 and 1/2 inch / 66 cm multicolored beadwork statement necklace was lovingly shops handmade for the woman who dares to be different, unique - alluringly bold. It's the perfect necklace to enhance your outfit for a day of fun, or work, or an evening out on the town. Inspired by Zulu beading tradition I created this necklace by threading each individual glass seed bead then carefully and tightly wrapping the beaded thread around and stitching it to a thick cord. As in the photo, the necklace maintains a consistent shape and form. The closure was made with beaded ball and loop, again abiding by Zulu tradition. Collection Story

This necklace was first inspired by the intricate beadwork of the Zulu women in South Africa. Most traditional Zulu beadwork conveys notions of courtship and marriage. It's a feminine craft that, like the best poetry or art or music, expresses both explicit and intuitive meaning.

Indeed, like a language, the beadwork is encoded using a limited number of colors and geometric patterns, and, except for white which always symbolizes spiritual love and purity, each color possesses sharply contrasting connotations, one positive, the other negative.

The necklaces here all have only the best and happiest of meanings, and although I offer a small story to enliven the beads, you're welcome to intuit your own.

Rainbow
We drive down the open highway lined with tall palm trees as a gentle rain begins to fall. The sunlight catches each raindrop and a magnificent rainbow guides us to our tropical getaway. A perfect moment.

Size

Length of necklace from end to end including the loop closure and toggle is approximately 26 inches // 66 cm, length may slightly vary. The circumference of the beaded rope is 2 1/8" // 5.4 cm (Thicker rope style) diameter is approximately 5/8" // 1.6cm To see how the necklace looks when wearing it, please look at the model in photos of the other bead wrapped necklaces.


Each necklace will come wrapped in tissue paper and packaged in a white gift box, accented with a ribbon and bow. A Perfect Moment story will accompany each necklace. A gift tag is also available for free upon request.
