For sale is a beautiful large map of Great Britain and Ireland. The map is very detailed and the attractive coloring was done by hand with great precision. Please zoom the pictures to see best. Nice detail is the fact that the prime meridian crosses Paris and not Greenwich as it is a French map. This means that the degree of longitude of the map is slightly off compared to modern maps. The year 1863 is printed in the decorative title. The wide margins make this map very suitable for framing.

This antique map comes from the beautiful French 'Atlas Universel, Physique, Historique et Politique' by the famous geographer H. Dufour, published in Paris. Item is published in the year 1863 and is a true antique. It measures 61 x 85 cm or 24x33". Antique maps this size are rare. Condition of the map is good (= a few small signs of age/wear, but in overall good condition). Printed on thick paper. Reverse side is blank. Issued with a centerfold.
