The shops Cleveland Flats have been central (literally) to the entire history of Cleveland. As integral as the river that runs through them, the Flats have risen and fallen in influence and prosperity may times in their history. Currently with new development on the east and west banks they are attracting many more people downtown. With a resurgence of use of the Cuyahoga for all kinds of watersports not to mention the connection of the new bike trail to Wendy Park and Whiskey Island the Flats are poised for a new golden era of prosperity downtown!

With this print I wanted to pay homage to the industrial heritage of The Flats. What better way to do that than highlight one of the jackknife bridges and a Lake Erie freighter on it's way to offload downstream.
