A gilt silver filigree calling card case, probably of European origin, made in the 19th century. The silver tests at least .800 purity. One mark (see last photo) might be a partial French weevil hallmark. If true, that would mean this case was a French import made between 1864 to 1893. Its exterior dimensions are 3 W x shops 2 1/8 H x 1/8 D inches, the weight is 26.6 grams.

CONDITION: Wear to the gilt, especially around the edges.
