Pegasus Single shops Gusset Briefcase With Dual Outside Pockets & Retractable Handles In Brown Leather - Made In U.S.A. EUC

This is a Pegasus portfolio style retractable handle briefcase in beautiful supple brown leather with brass hardware. This bag is in excellent used condition and shows very little signs of use. There is a Pegasus made in USA tag inside . Pegasus has been around over 40 years and my first leather briefcase was an identical Pegasus portfolio retractable handle style briefcase made of the same leather that my wife purchased for me in the early 1980s. This case has 3 compartments giving you separate and quick access to your laptop, files and books. The center compartment is perfect for your laptop and files as it has a brass zipper closure to keep it secure. The two compartments on either side are open access and large enough for books and files. The inside shops compartment and outside compartments are leather lined. The bag has dual padded retractable handles for an alternative carrying method.

Condition:

This bag is in excellent used condition. It has no rips, tears or holes. All hardware works as intended. It is structurally sound. The bag is very clean inside and out. However, like most leather bags over 30 years old it has some scuffs and scratches but very few for a bag this age. This bag was either stored in a closet for most of its life or meticulously maintained. Please see photos for best depiction of condition of bag.

Pegasus has been manufacturing briefcases since the late 1970s. We do not have vintage catalogs for this company to determine the precise date it was manufactured. However, based on my research about the history of this company, the materials used to construct this briefcase, my personal experience of receiving a Pegasus made of similar leather in the early 80s, and articles about the age of similar briefcases, it is my opinion this case was manufactured sometime in the 1970s to 1980s.
