The typewriter measurement bar says Copyright Underwood Corporation 1895-1923. The serial number is 12-6765580. I just typed Every good boy does fine as shown in the picture. The carriage moves back and forth. The Underwood needs a good cleaning. I don't know if there should be a metal plate in front.. the sides and back have a chrome strip around them.. it's a nice old typewriter! A great decorative piece or you might want shops to try your skills at typing on it. It is a heavy earlier model. I am not an expert on vintage typewriters. I do not know if all of the pieces are there or if any repairs need to be made. It was purchased at an estate sale.
