Flawless and Large Antique shops Mason's Ironstone Octagonal Pitcher Milk Jug

This exceptional ironstone pitcher by Mason's of England was produced sometime in the 1930s (it bears the company's twentieth stamp or mark) and reflects the popularity of Asian design, specifically Imari ware of Japan, as applied to a heavier and more durable ceramic.

The octagonal body of the pitcher is complemented by the eight scalloped facets of the mouth; both are festooned with brightly colored floral designs outlined in gold. Clearly stamped with its maker's mark, the pitcher stands seven inches tall, measures five inches wide at the base, and easily holds 32 fluid ounces.

There are a few pitchers, sometimes referred to as milk jugs, like this available online; a number of features make this a standout besides its unusually large size at seven inches tall. Its condition is extraordinary. Not only are there no chips, flea bites, or cracks, there has (amazingly) been no loss of gold where you'd expect to see wear -- along the handle and at the spout.
