Seller Notes:“There are old brown stains in the rough creamy white fabric used as a "base" for the appliques. The most visible stain clusters are shown in the pictures, but there are less visible spots on other blocks as well. The brown staining does not affect the fabrics used for appliques or the sashing/border strips. No holes, no broken stitches on the appliques, no odors.”

Please notice this is just a quilt TOP: it is NOT a finished quilt or bedspread, as there is no batting or backing beneath fabrics shown on the photos.

This, although rather simple, is an old piece: the off-white (rather "creamy") cotton used for the blocks seems to have been obtained from old corn meal sacks or similar, probably shops in a farm.

The sewing of the appliques was done by hand, the setting of the blocks with the sashing strips and borders was done by machine.

The stains seem difficult to remove completely, at least with the type of standard household products we use here: we are selling this quilt top as is, no laundering, as we don't know how to remove those stains, but many out there, who know better, know methods to clean those old spots.

It measures 89" by 64" across.
