Antique Afghan shops rosewood spice box

This is a beautiful Hand Painted and Lacquered Vintage Rosewood Spice Box from the Middle East. It is a rounded shape container with a domed lid and decorative knob. The orange, red and black container has decorative carved, swirls and feathers going around the entire box and lid. Spice boxes were considered very special and prized by their owner shops. Often times they were given as wedding gifts and handed down through generations. Each spice has its own unique and distinctive design. This spice box would be a wonderful addition to your home or collection.

The top of the lid has a surface crack (see pictures) and some traces of use. These traces match with the age of the piece.
