Vintage 1950s shops Dress, Form Fit Dresses NY, Dusty Rose Lace w/ Whimsical Satin Ribbon Detailing, Side & Shoulder Zipper, 38/40 Inch Bust

Adorably gorgeous late 1940s/early 1950s lace & satin cocktail dress in really nice vintage condition! Light signs of wear. The only flaw to note is a small discoloration on the satin trim at the back, right side, as pictured. Otherwise no major flaws to note!

I absolutely cannot get over the whimsy of this dress! Dusty rose satin with a full lace overlay adorned in criss-cross satin trim. Stellar vertical pleats stemming down from each shoulder make me think that it's more late '40s. High waistline with shops simple darts. Left side shoulder has a hidden zipper! I'm not sure if this was added later, as it's a nylon zipper and looks a little newer, but it actually looks original to the dress or was just expertly added in. 10 inch metal Crown zipper down the left side. Super full and flouncy skirt.
Color is best represented in the photos of the dress on the dress form and hanger, it's a really lovely dusty pink/dusty rose. Dress is pinned to the dress form.

Measurements laying flat are approximately:

Bust: 19 inches, measured armpit to armpit. Because of the shaping and darts in the bodice, if I gently tug at the sides of the dress, the bust can pull out to 20 inches, so 38 to 40 inches around the bust.
Waist: 15 inches, 30 inches around the waist.
Hips: Full.
Length: 38 inches long.
