Vtg. Handmade, Handcut, Semi-Precious Picture Jasper Stone Bolo Tie by Deb, Flat shops Top Cabochon, Rayon Cord, Silvertone Tips, 22" Long, 1984

I cut this stone myself, back in 1984 when I first learned to do lapidary work. It is a semi-precious stone called picture jasper, because you can find beautiful landscape pictures in the stones. It's very magical to cut into the stone and find Nature's own artwork. The landscape scenes found in the rock, just happen to resemble the lands where jasper is found, the desert hills of the West and Southwest. This stone looks like a desert hill scene with birds flying in the sky. The flat cabochon stone is mounted on a stainless steel shops bolo tie finding, and has no bezel. The glue I used is specifically for jewelry work and should hold strong for many long years! The stone slides on a silky rayon cord, 22" inches long, and has silvertone tips. The stone is a flat top oval, to accentuate the visual quality of the "landscape" feature. 22mm. Nature's magical gift.
