This is a wonderful antique European grain sack dating from around 1850 with unusual and rare printed stripes! This sack was hand woven and was once used for storing grains. The quality is AMAZING ~ all woven by hand ~ I was lucky to find many of these sacks and so we have a few varieties of tones and stripes for you to browse on our Etsy and eBay store! ( My eBay store can be found by following my www.textiletrunk.com link in SHOP) These textiles were made to stand the test of time and are ideal for upholstery projects, pillow covers, bath mats, table runners, dog beds, curtains, lampshades etc! ~

ITEM SPECIFICS

Color/ tone of stripe : Ocean blue
MEASUREMENTS : This grain sack measures roughly 22 inches wide by 52 inches long
Weave/Weight: This sack has a plain weave, and is mid weight.
CONDITION : This sack is in as found, not freshly laundered condition ~Generally, this sack is in lovely timeworn condition! Please see the pictures to get an idea of the condition of this sack - it has some patched holes and some staining on both sides. Because these sacks are hand woven, you may find some small pulls in the weave, but otherwise this textile is in lovely timeworn condition with signs of time and use often inherent in textiles of this age!
