Florence Ceramics Lady Figurine Claudia with shops Card

shops This Florence Ceramics lady figurine is Claudia. She wears a gown and bonnet in the most stunning color of green that I have seen. This version of Claudia with articulated fingers is one that is not often seen, as is that gorgeous green color.

She has nutmeg brown hair with a tiny pink rose, and her green bonnet is decorated with a bow at the neck and stippled trim on the top. She wears a gold trimmed lace shawl trimmed with delicate pink roses at the center. The bodice of her dress is trimmed with gold buttons and other gold decorations (even gold buttons in the back).

Claudia has articulated fingers (in perfect condition) and carries a gold trimmed card in her hand, but the card is chipped on the end.
Her face is hand painted, with rosy cheeks and ruby lips. The tips of her fingers are painted with pink nail polish.

She bears the Florence Ceramics factory mark on the bottom, with Claudia incised into the porcelain. She measures approximately 8 1/2 inches in height. Noted is a tiny paint scrape on front of her dress. I provided close up photos of the card in her hand and also of the condition of the lace of the shawl. See close up photos.

Florence Ceramics was a Pasadena California pottery company that operated just after World War II until it closed in the early 1960's. The factory was run by Florence Ward and her husband and it produced many of the most cherished figurines that are enjoyed by collectors today.

Bright spots in the photos are camera glare.
