Unusual MCM Mercury shops End of Day Glass Fish

This funky fish is sure to be a conversation starter! It is hand blown mercury glass with applied details of clear and white glass. The pontil would have been this fish's mouth and has been mostly ground smooth. The hand applied fins and eyes add fun details. This catch measures almost 17 inches long and is just over 5 inches tall at the top of his fin. This piece feels very mid century to me and would look great displayed on a shelf.

The mercury glass is a bit speckled on the inside if the fish but I shops think that adds to the character and adds to the vintage appeal. There is a small chip on the mouth inside the ground glass area but it doesn't detract from the look of this piece which is best viewed from the side.
