Antique Glass Hydrometers 2 in Wood Box Old Taylor Instrument Co shops Tycos Proof Tralle Scale and Moonshine Mash Specific Gravity Alcohol Meter

This listing is for two antique hydrometers in a wooden box with sliding lid. Very nice collectibles to display as decor.

The smaller glass hydrometer is marked Taylor Rochester NY and Percent of Proof Spirit at 60 F. shops Please refer to photos. It has black steel shot. No glass chips or cracks. Measures 6 1/4” long.

The longer specific gravity hydrometer is marked “Mash” on paper insert and numbered scale of 0-70. It has a red tip and measures 10.5” inches long.
There is some black ink on the outer glass bottom. No chips or cracks.

The wood box has wooden dovetailed joints and a wooden sliding lid. There is old cotton batting inside. The wood box measures 10 3/4” inches long,
1 1/4” tall, 1 1/4”wide. Box is in good condition with aging patina and some soiling. Cotton batting has soiling as well.

Please refer to photos. The wood box and hydrometers were together when I found them as an estate find. I do not know if they work or not. I thought they looked unusual and would a be fun decor piece. Was not till after researching them did I know what there original purpose was.
