This set of two gorgeous porcelain tumblers were made on the pottery wheel using, I my opinion, the finest Grolleg porcelain I know of. Once I've gotten these to the desired height and thickness, I alter and tweak them to make them a bit more interesting. I try to give them a little “attitude “ if you will. This fine porcelain can be translucent if thin enough and the glaze used allows for transparency (see photos with flashlight shining through). For shops this listing, each tumbler has a clear celadon liner glaze with multiple glazes sprayed on the exterior. I then sprinkle wood ash on the top section to promote the glaze/ash runs (drips). I fire them to nearly 2400 degrees F in a gas kiln. They are about 6.75 inches tall and hold 16 fluid ounces. As with everything else I make, these are microwave/dishwasher/oven safe. I formulate all of my food safe glazes. They feel great in the hand and I'm confident they'll become someone's favorite drinking vessel! His and her's porcelain tumblers.
