"Sunburst" is one of three paintings in which color was the focus of the discussion. I started painting them at the beginning of the shops summer where I wanted to create some uplifting artwork. I'm trying to add more greenery to the compositions for more movement and flow, while still working on learning to create more realistic flowers. "Sunburst" is all about orange. It's a color that doesn't get a lot of attention but I think it can make a real impact. Ranunculus flowers are not only fun to say, but a blast to paint. I hope you enjoy them too.

Painted edges continue in a wraparound effect. Edge measures at 7/8".
