INCREDIBLE antique cuff! Circa 1700s – late 1800s, this African bracelet features a twisted / spiral design, created from bronze using the lost wax method. These tribal bracelets or "Manillas" were used for personal adornment and trade currency. This particular piece likely originates from West Africa, a solid and VERY heavy example with a rich and undisturbed patina. One section of the twisted spiral cuff is a bit open; this is not damage but is unique to the original design. A beautiful example.
