Shops Jeff Trag Red Cedar Keepsake Box with One Drawer Plus One Secret Drawer

Jeff Trag of Micanopy, FL created hand carved boxes made out of cedar or other local woods. Some of these boxes have drawers carved out of the block of wood and some even have secret drawers. This unique box is made from red cedar. The outside of the box is the bark of the "log". You can see the inside of the log at the ends of the box which have been sealed to reveal the beautiful red wood. The drawer with its shops little stick pull is carved out of the center and has red felt-like fabric lining the drawer. The back of the drawer is signed by Jeff Trag 1986. The bottom of this drawer is also carved out to form a secret drawer which you can only see if you remove the main drawer completely. The box still has a strong cedar smell.

This uniquely crafted box would make a wonderful jewelry box or keepsake box. Each box is different, dictated by the piece of wood it is made from. These boxes are highly collectible and I'm not sure they are still being made. The ones I've seen have all been from the 1980's and 90's.
