1838 The River Raisin & Lake shops Erie R.R. Co. - Michigan

Original hand signed 1838 “Two Dollars” note issued by “The River Raisin & Lake Erie Railroad Company” in Monroe, Michigan. The shops note was printed with a plain back that has a signature dated 1838. The hand inscribed serial number is “820”. The River Raisin and Lake Erie Railroad started operations in 1836 and stopped service in 1840 for a total period of operations of 4 years.

The note will be shipped in a protective sleeve with a dated, hand signed Letter of Authenticity with a photograph of the currency above. All of the artifacts on our site are guaranteed to be original Civil War issue or as stated.
