A rare antique mountain and volcano map of the Philippines, known as an shops orographical map. Originally prepared in 1899 under the supervision of P. Jose Algue, S.J., director of the Manila Observatory and issued in 1900 as a special publication of the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey of the US Treasury Department (Government Printing Office, Washington, DC). This Spanish-language map is unusual particularly in that the technical work was executed wholly by Filipino draftsmen.

Size of map: approx. 12.5 inches x 14.5 inches (31.75 cm x 36.83 cm)

In very good condition. Blank en verso. A copy of the title page will be provided as proof of provenance.
