Bohemian Spring Butterfly Asymmetric Assemblage shops Necklace, Artisan Ceramic and Lampwork Bead Pendant, Gemstone and Handmade Bead Jewellery UK

This necklace was made in the depths of winter, and is definitely an expression of my yearning for the warm sunny summer days ahead!

In the winter the rolling South Downs hills are still beguiling, but up close everything is sleeping beneath the browning tangle of last years growth.
But soon enough the fields and valleys will be transformed beneath the strengthening sun, awash with a rainbow of flowers and thrumming with butterflies and bees.

The pendant features a colourful assemblage of art beads and gemstones that capture the bright colours of sun-kissed flowers. A glass butterfly by Kim Snider takes center stage, paired with artisan ceramics from Grubbi and Scorched Earth, lampwork beads by Helen Chalmers and Josephine Wadman and a vibrant carved rhodochrosite leaf bead.

These treasures hang from a hammered copper butterfly handmade by myself and given a shimmering patina, and are highlighted by touches of sterling silver and tiny Czech glass flowers on strings.

The adjustable necklace is made with high quality gemstone beads in complimentary colours; kunzite and aquamarine nuggets, blue lace agate leaves, amethyst rondelles and rose quartz rounds create an organic, asymmetric design that can be adjusted from 22 to 27 inches ( 56 to 69 cm) long.

All my jewellery is handmade by me in my small studio by the sea. I use only the best beads and materials I can get my crafty little hands on to make pieces that will be a joy to wear.
