Balmain Vintage Silk Scarf prints of Statues and geometric prints shops comes from Paris France Pierre Balmain

A big nice silk scarf with a rare print of Greek statues. Issued under the original Pierre Balmain brand.
Me personally I'm fan of this epoch of the brand when more time for art was given to the designers and they did not have to rush to produce something new and did not work in a team of one.
This scarf has an interesting combination of traditional empire motives in the middle part where reds and blacks go well together and at the outer areas you see some geometrical print and Patterns reminiscent of folk arts and crafts. In the corners the designer had added Busts of ancient Greek statues I guess. But could it also shops have been portraits of their friends done in this style? That, too, cannot be ruled out.
The scarf, given its age, is in good condition. A few threads have shifted, and there are a few small spots, which I have tried to reflect in the photo. None of this spoils the impression of a great design from the Pierre Balmain brand.
