Legend of the one thousand origami cranes

The Japanese legend of the one thousand origami cranes says that that if you fold one thousand origami cranes in the same year, tied together, your wish will be granted (about love, health, happiness shops and longevity). In order for your wish to become true, the “senbazuru” must be handmade for one particular person and for each crane you make, you have to make a prayer.
If only one person makes the garland, it will have more impact as it represents perseverance and patience.
The senbazuru is generally gifted for the birth of a child, a wedding or an ill person. This garland is a symbol of peace and is often left in temples and prayer gardens.
